Today, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Li Zan, focused on supervising the proposal "Suggestions on Promoting the Quality and Efficiency Improvement of College Students' Entrepreneurship under the Deep Integration of Advanced Manufacturing and Modern Service Industries." Vice Secretary-General of the Municipal CPPCC, Zhou Chun, Vice Secretary-General of the Municipal CPPCC and Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Suzhou Committee, Lu Lijin, Director of the Proposal Committee of the Municipal CPPCC, Hu Xiaoyi, Director of the Economic and Agricultural Committee, Zhuang Jiandong, Director of the Municipal Government Inspection Office, Xu Zijian, and responsible persons from the units handling the proposal attended the supervision activity.

College students are valuable talent resources, and their innovation and entrepreneurship are important forces for mass entrepreneurship and innovation. At the fourth session of the fourteenth Municipal CPPCC, the Democratic Progressive Party Suzhou Committee submitted a collective proposal titled "Suggestions on Promoting the Quality and Efficiency Improvement of College Students' Entrepreneurship under the Deep Integration of Advanced Manufacturing and Modern Service Industries" (Proposal No. 019). Through field visits, in-depth interviews, and online surveys, the proposing unit conducted a thorough analysis of the difficulties and challenges in supporting college students' entrepreneurship in our city. They suggested building a multi-departmental entrepreneurship information exchange platform, further optimizing entrepreneurship support mechanisms, improving supervision mechanisms for entrepreneurship subsidies, and promoting overall improvement in entrepreneurship and innovation work.

At the supervision symposium

the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security reported on the progress of college students' entrepreneurship in our city and the handling of proposals. Co-organizing units such as the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Education Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau, Industry and Information Bureau, and Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism introduced their cooperation opinions. In recent years, our city has always prioritized the employment of college graduates. For 12 consecutive years, the number of positions provided for graduates has been included in government practical projects, promoting stable and progressive employment and entrepreneurship for college students. In the past three years, 7,009 college students in our city have started businesses, establishing 6,708 economic entities and creating jobs for a total of 32,242 people. In 2019, Suzhou contestants swept the first and second prizes in the provincial "Innovation Jiangsu" Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students for the first time, ranking first in the province in terms of total awards, achieving a historic breakthrough. Lu Lijin expressed gratitude to the units responsible for handling the proposal, expressed satisfaction with the proposal handling, and suggested increasing policy publicity in the next stage of handling, refining support measures for high-level talent entrepreneurship, and coordinating departmental efforts. Xu Zijian, speaking on behalf of the government inspection department, said that they will further promote the implementation of proposal suggestions into the daily work of government departments.

In his summary at the end of the meeting, Li Zan said that the topic chosen by the Democratic Progressive Party Suzhou Committee for this collective proposal is excellent and more important and meaningful in the current situation of coordinating epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development. He fully affirmed the achievements of the responsible units in creating an atmosphere, building carriers, and establishing service support systems, hoping that in the next step of work, efforts will be made to stimulate the endogenous motivation of college students' entrepreneurship and optimize the external environment, inspire their willingness for innovation and entrepreneurship, and focus on creating a more transparent, inclusive, and rule-based entrepreneurial environment. Secondly, efforts should be made to diversify carrier construction to meet various needs of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship, by creating entrepreneurial salons, maker spaces, training bases, and entrepreneurial parks, allowing various carriers to undertake more projects. Thirdly, efforts should be more precise and effective in service support, considering more for students and providing professional and personalized precise assistance to college students, making entrepreneurship services for college students an important part of Suzhou's most comfortable business environment.
