On the morning of September 1st, the 11th "Challenge Cup" Jiangsu Province College Student Entrepreneurship Competition Final Review Contest opened online, hosted by the Communist Youth League Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Jiangsu Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Jiangsu Provincial Students' Federation, and organized by Huaiyin Institute of Technology.


Secretary of the Provincial Communist Youth League, Si Yong, and President of Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Sun Aiwu, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was simultaneously live-streamed on Weibo and Douyin platforms, with major universities actively organizing young students to watch, attracting nearly 600,000 online viewers in real time.

Secretary Si Yong encouraged students to clarify their direction of challenge, integrate their personal dreams into the great practice of the Chinese Dream, and integrate their innovation and entrepreneurship with rural revitalization, targeted poverty alleviation, the construction of a beautiful Jiangsu, and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta strategy. He emphasized the importance of developing dialectical thinking, facing challenges with comprehensive, dialectical, and long-term perspectives, seizing opportunities from crises and challenges, and having confidence in overcoming difficulties. To create a favorable social atmosphere for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship, the opening ceremony of this competition specially invited CCTV's "Touching China" host Jing Yidan, Jiangsu TV host Li Hao, founder of China Social Welfare Foundation Hui Foundation Hui Ruqiu, Chairman of Five Star Holdings Group and founder of Five Star Electric Appliances Wang Jianguo, Senior Vice President of Bosideng Holdings Group Limited Gao Xiaodong, Founder of EJIA Life Pan Dingguo, General Manager of Jiangsu Sishui Liangnong Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. Themed "Entrepreneurship Drives Employment: Youth Confront Challenges," this competition highlights the guiding principle of practical education. It guides and inspires college students to enhance their understanding of the national and social situations through extensive social practices and profound social observations, stimulate innovation spirit, cultivate entrepreneurial awareness, and enhance socialization capabilities. The competition focuses on the major development strategies of the Party and the country, centers around the Five Development Concepts, and sets up five main theme tracks, including "technological innovation and future industries, rural revitalization and poverty alleviation, urban governance and social services, ecological environment protection and sustainable development, cultural creativity and regional cooperation." Since its launch in July, it has attracted more than 200 schools and over 80,000 students, with more than 15,000 works participating in the competition. A total of 546 works from 166 schools in the province entered the provincial competition, setting records in the number of participating schools, students, and works. After the preliminary online evaluation, 339 works from 138 schools entered the finals. Huaiyin Institute of Technology has a total of 5 works entering the finals. Due to the epidemic prevention and control needs, the final evaluation will be conducted online for the first time, and the finalist works will compete for the highest honor, the "Challenge Cup," through online defense presentations.
