The 11th Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneurship Week in 2019 will continue with the theme "Gathering Global Wisdom, Creating an Entrepreneurial Paradise." It will be held from July 10th to 12th at the Suzhou International Expo Center. This year's Entrepreneurship Week will focus on Suzhou's strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and modern services. It will particularly invite talents and teams in leading industries such as biomedicine, new generation information technology, nanotechnology applications, and artificial intelligence. Moreover, efforts will be made to invite experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from relevant domestic and international sectors. The event is planned to include nine major categories and a total of 28 main activities, including the opening ceremony and expo, the Suzhou Leading Industries (BINA) Summit, a special session on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, professional conferences, youth carnivals, branch venues, urban charm experiences, and press releases. The main venue will be set up at the Suzhou International Expo Center, with branch venues established in various county-level cities and districts. Additionally, in May and June of this year, overseas branch activities for Entrepreneurship Week will be held in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and South Korea, and Southeast Asia, respectively.

1. Event Overview

The 11th Suzhou Young Elite Entrepreneurship Competition, themed "Winning in Suzhou, Creating a Winning Future," is one of the main events of the 2019 (11th) Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneurship Week. It focuses on Suzhou's strategic emerging industries, strengthens coordination and linkage with "Double First-Class" universities, research institutes, entrepreneurial incubators, and innovation spaces. The competition aims to attract outstanding youth entrepreneurship projects, support award-winning projects to settle in Suzhou for incubation, facilitate the integration of innovative projects with local Suzhou companies, and ignite the enthusiasm of young talents for innovation and entrepreneurship in Suzhou.

The previous ten Young Elite Entrepreneurship Competitions have attracted a total of 3724 entrepreneurship projects from major universities, research institutes, and social organizations nationwide. Many projects have received attention and support from capital through the competition.

This year's competition is divided into two categories: non-settled and settled groups, with the highest prize money reaching 400,000 RMB!

Liao Peng

Deputy Dean of Operations, Suzhou Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Master of Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with over ten years of experience in project management and market operations in central state-owned enterprises. Since 2018, he has served as the Deputy Dean of Operations at the Suzhou Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Zhang Cong

Senior Investment Director, Yuanhe Holdings

Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Human-Machine and Environmental Engineering from Beihang University. Focuses on investment in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. Currently serving as the Senior Investment Director of the Direct Investment Department at Yuanhe Holdings. With five years of industrial experience, he has previously served as a key account manager at Bosch Automotive Chassis Division in Germany.

Kong Lei

Managing Partner, Xingwang Investment Management

Currently serving as the Managing Partner of Shenzhen Qianhai Xingwang Investment Management Co., Ltd. Holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China. One of the initiators of Suzhou GDG (Google Developer Community), with a long-term focus on artificial intelligence, big data, enterprise services, and the Internet of Things. Previously worked at the University of Science and Technology of China and held positions such as Assistant to the Chairman at A-share listed company Sunrise Orient and Investment Director at Suzhou Industrial Park United Investment Co., Ltd. Honored as an Outstanding Incubation Mentor in the 2017 Golden Chicken Lake Entrepreneurship Corridor.

Wang Yang

Director, Emerging Industries Innovation Center, Suzhou Institute of Advanced Technology

Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Overseas senior government advisor for multiple cities in Jiangsu Province. The self-media platform TSITE-CN, founded by him, has become the most influential online platform in the field of technology entrepreneurship and innovation in Jiangsu Province. Focuses on promoting mass entrepreneurship and innovation government projects in non-first-tier cities. Honored as a startup mentor by numerous domestic and international incubators including 36Kr from 2014 to 2015, by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology & the China Youth Science and Technology Foundation in 2016, as one of the first batch of ten thousand innovation and entrepreneurship mentors by the Ministry of Education in 2017, and qualified as a judge for the Baidu-Alibaba-Tencent (BAT) mass entrepreneurship spaces and innovation centers. Also holds the qualification of a judge for the 2018 National Finals of China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

Cheng Gongbi

Ph.D. candidate in Geology from the University of Cincinnati, USA, and MBA from Xavier University, USA. Chief Scientist of a key project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, high-level talent of Jiangsu Province's "Six Talent Peaks," leading innovation and entrepreneurship talent of Gusu (Suzhou's old name), and technological leading talent of Suzhou Industrial Park. Currently serving as the Chairman of Jiangsu Gaia Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., part-time professor at Nanjing University, and entrepreneurship mentor at Nanjing University. Engaged in environmental geological technology research for 20 years, published 16 professional papers, and obtained over 200 national patents.
