On the morning of July 11th, the launching ceremony of the Social Practice Base jointly established by Nanjing Tech University and Wuzhong District People's Government, as well as the doctoral summer science and technology service activities, was officially held.

Wuzhong District Deputy Mayor Yao Dong and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing Tech University, Wu Shenghong, delivered speeches at the event. Leaders from Nanjing Tech University and representatives from Wuzhong District, including Shen Yubao, Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Wuzhong District, and Wang Jianfeng, Deputy Director of the Office of the Wuzhong District Government, attended the ceremony.

Yao Dong delivered a speech, warmly welcoming the leaders, teachers, and students of Nanjing Tech University.

He said:

"Suzhou is a paradise, and Wuzhong is the most beautiful part of it." Wuzhong District has obvious geographical advantages and is known as the "most beautiful place of Taihu Lake". Currently, we are seizing the opportunities brought by national strategies such as the "Belt and Road Initiative", integration of the Yangtze River Delta, and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. We are fully integrating into the "one-hour metropolitan area" of Shanghai and Suzhou, and striving to become a gathering place for high-end elements, a supplier of ecological and cultural industries, and a destination for industrial coordinated development in the Yangtze River Delta.

Nanjing Tech University is a prestigious university with a century-old history of education. In recent years, it has maintained close ties and cooperation with Suzhou and Wuzhong. Young doctoral students are outstanding talents in the talent pool, and summer science and technology services are an effective way to scientifically and reasonably allocate talent resources and promote economic and social development.

Wuzhong will meet the needs of the industry to the best of its ability and promote cooperation between universities, enterprises, and governments. We will facilitate communication channels between the government, universities, and enterprises, and seek new impetus for high-quality development.

Wang Yuchao, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Nanjing Tech University, introduced the situation of this summer's social practice.

He said:

Nanjing Tech University has formed a summer science and technology service team composed of 3 doctoral supervisors, professors, and more than 10 doctoral and master's students. They will cooperate with technology companies in Wuzhong District to provide technical services to enterprises and give back to society.

Wang Kaifeng, a representative of the doctoral science and technology service team members, Xu Shanxin, Chairman of Sange Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., and Sun Ke, General Manager of Suzhou Cornigs Polyol Co., Ltd., respectively spoke on behalf of the doctoral science and technology service team members and the practical units.

Zhao Jianping, Head of the Tenth and Eleventh Batches of Science and Technology Town Mayors in Wuzhong District and Dean of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering at Nanjing Tech University, as well as Ben Zhiqin, Head of the Twelfth and Thirteenth Batches of Science and Technology Town Mayors in Wuzhong District and Deputy District Mayor, expressed their earnest expectations for this cooperation.

Wu Shenghong expressed gratitude to the Wuzhong District Government for their high attention and strong support for this activity.

Finally, Wu Shenghong and Yao Dong jointly unveiled the plaque for the practice base.

In recent years, Wuzhong District has vigorously promoted cooperation between large institutions and universities, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and jointly establishing more than 100 industry-university-research alliances. The cooperative practice base jointly established by Nanjing Tech University and the Wuzhong District People's Government will utilize summer technology services to enterprises, carry out key technology research, promote technological innovation in Wuzhong, and empower industrial development in Wuzhong.
