In order to comprehensively improve the effectiveness of scientific and technological services, and in conjunction with the school's "Hundred Experts and Hundred Enterprises Going to Villages" initiative, the Student Union, together with the Party Committee Graduate Work Department, the Institute of Scientific Research, and some colleges, recently organized seven teams of doctoral science and technology service groups at the university level to precisely match with relevant enterprises in the province and conduct summer social practice activities.

The doctoral science and technology service teams are composed of 7 professors and 42 doctoral and master's students.

Under the leadership of Jiang Yuanxi, Peng Hao, Zhou Jianfeng, and Fu Changyi, leaders of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, the doctoral team went to SENSEON (China) Group Co., Ltd. to conduct detailed research on the basic situation of the enterprise. They paid particular attention to high-end products such as large and medium-sized pressure vessels and integrated vaccine manufacturing equipment. They engaged in in-depth discussions with the company's leaders on issues such as the new ASME quality standard system, improving and breakthroughs in heavy-duty products, and signed a cooperation agreement for the social practice base.

Under the leadership of professors Li Zhenjiang, Li Shuang, and Ji Xiaojun, the doctoral team from the School of Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering visited Suzhou Cornigs Polyols Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Weikang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. They conducted in-depth discussions with company leaders on issues such as the development of new products, high-density fermentation of probiotics, manufacturing processes, market sales, talent introduction, and safety and environmental protection.

The doctoral team from the School of Civil Engineering conducted field research at Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group. They engaged in extensive discussions with corporate leaders on current challenges and future development directions in the promotion of prefabricated buildings and the development of resilient cities. They also delved into issues related to the simulation of irregular structures and elastoplastic analysis, addressing recent problems faced by the company.

Currently, the aforementioned doctoral summer science and technology service teams have completed on-site investigations. In the next stage, they will analyze and experiment on relevant technical issues within the university, maintain online communication with enterprises, and strive to propose safe, green, and feasible solutions for process optimization and quality improvement. Meanwhile, the School of Safety Science and Engineering, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the School of Chemical Engineering have comprehensively surveyed the technological needs of enterprises. Professors have conducted precise online communication to understand the basic situation and technical problems of relevant enterprises in areas such as Kunshan, Suqian, and Changzhou, making sufficient preparations for the next stage of online science and technology services.

It is reported that as early as the 1990s, our university pioneered the doctoral summer social practice service team among national universities. For more than 20 years, doctoral teams from our university have been active at the grassroots level. This kind of scientific and technological service, where professors guide on-site and doctoral and master's students conduct long-term online research, has become a brand of student social practice services that strengthen the connection between the university and the community, enterprises, and facilitate the exchange of technology and talents. This year, our university's doctoral science and technology service teams have gone to many local companies to conduct social practice, aiming to learn from the Party's history, understand ideology, do practical work, and open up new prospects. They target the pain points and difficulties in enterprise development, provide precise scientific and technological services, and contribute their youth power.
